Imagine a vehicle that combines the agility of a motorcycle with the safety of a four-wheeled car. French e-mobility company AEMotion has been working on this concept since 2014, and its latest creation is now up for pre-order. This two-seater "microcar" features tilting technology, allowing it to lean into corners like a motorcycle, and is designed for navigating congested city streets.

Key Features

- Tilting technology with a maximum lean angle of 35 degrees
- Top speed of 115 km/h (71.5 mph)
- Fixed battery with up to 200 km (124 miles) range per charge, plus swappable battery units with 70 km (43.5 miles) each
- Handlebar steering and four-point safety belts for both occupants
- EPP bumpers and crash boxes for added safety
- Hydraulic disc brakes for effective stopping power

Design and Practicality

The vehicle's compact width of just 79 cm (31 in) enables it to zip through traffic and park with ease. The outer shell and doors with windows provide weather protection for both occupants, although the lower halves of the doors leave the driver's legs exposed. A small storage area in the back can be expanded by pushing the passenger seat forward.

Production and Availability

AEMotion is initially targeting long-term leasers at around €200 per month, with a pre-series "pioneer" batch expected later this year. Regular deliveries are penciled in for late 2026, early 2027, with larger-scale production set to begin after 2028. The company has not yet confirmed availability outside of France.
Getting Behind the Wheel

To drive this innovative vehicle, you'll need a Permis B car license in France, and a few hours of training may also be required. With its unique design and features, this tilting electric vehicle is sure to turn heads on city streets.
